Baked Hot Dogs In Jackets

Makes 4 servings
  • 4 hot dog jackets (buns)
  • 4 hot dogs
  • 3 tbl butter, divided
  • 3 tbl mustard, divided
  • 3 tbl minced green onion, divided
  • 3 tbl Parmigiano Reggiano, divided
  • 2 tsp sesame seed, divided

  1. Open jackets and place crust side down.
  2. Flatten each jacket with rolling pin.
  3. Using half the butter, spread butter on jackets. Spread with the mustard.
  4. Sprinkle with green onions and cheese.
  5. Place a hot dog crosswise on each jacket and roll tightly.
  6. Place seam side down on a greased bake sheet.
  7. Spread tops with remaining butter and sprinkle with sesame seed.
  8. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 10-15 minutes for crispy buns or in a 375 degree oven for 10-15 minutes for softer buns, or until buns are lightly browned.
